DETAILS
The original building was built in 1926 by the Rines family in the heart of the Art District in Portland. The client wanted to increase the number of guestrooms, the rooftop bar lounge area called “The Top of the East” and improve the main entrance. Since the building is recognized as a national landmark, any intervention had to be carefully considered in order to preserve its historical heritage and character. The original design harmonizes with the modernization tailored to today’s needs and currently available building materials.
This project was completed in 2013 while employed at PFVS Architects.
